The first batch of life skills "Psycho-Social Abilities"¯, a new course was started at ANEW in November 2014. The response was absolutely overwhelming. The course is conducted by Mr. Freddy Paulose from Go Revival, an institute for training & consultancy. The 29 students have completed their two months course with Mr. Freddy Paulose.
From a garage in 97 to recognition at the Bombay Stock Exchange before top corporate, philanthropists, donors and other NGOs; ANEW has come a long way! After screening 450 NGOs nationwide, ANEW was one among 12 NGOs to reach the final round. After several rounds of due diligence, a 10 min presentation with the jury, ANEW was chosen as the first runner up under the Employability Category of the DASRA GIRL POWER 2015 - organized by the DASRA FOUNDATION, Mumbai. Anew is reaching out to the hearing impaired girl students of the commerce department of Presidency College, Madras..... We thank the Rotary Club of Anna Nagar, The Principal and staffs for their support for this out-reach. Basic computer knowledge is essential for any kind of employment these days... Anew is imparting its (already tried and successful) specially designed course for them by sending a trainer to their premises... At ANEW the course and placement for hearing impaired women has been successfully going on for more than 3 years....We wish the trainer (an alumnus of ANEW) and the students all the very best!
