ANEW Newsletter – 2007
The New Year has dawned at ANEW with great news for our computer project. A year of perseverance has paid off. Members Ms. Canute Franklin, Ms. Rekha Variyar and Ms. Sujatha Paulose along with our computer teachers represented ANEW with power point presentation and project reports. Once convinced CTS has agreed for the complete up gradation of both the computer labs.
(Sujatha- a source of inspiration 🙂 Nothing encourages us more than learning about the success of our dear students from none other than the employer himself. Sujatha being a true role model was invited along with her employer to address the valedictory function of the 56th and 57th batch of DCA. Sujatha began as a timid receptionist in a beauty salon owned by a very dynamic lady. Sujatha almost gave up when she found difficult to cope with the demands of the hectic schedule not to mention irate customers. Today 2 years later, a confident Sujatha runs the show, deftly handling accounting, appointments, supervision etc earning a neat Rs.6000/- per month. She was a picture of confidence when she spoke to the batch.
When someone is in your life for a ‘Reason’, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed – to provide you with guidance and support. They may SEEM like God-send and they ARE.” It was one such gathering on the 17th of April 2007 when all the people who came to ANEW for a ‘Reason’ assembled to formally inaugurate the BASIL SELLERS CENTRE – ANEW.
“Women’s Day” March 8th saw yet another successful ANEW Fund Raising event, “PARIVARTAN, a change”. It was an evening of Illusion by Magician Dhayanithi, Music by Pramod Nair and a sumptuous dinner spread out at Hotel Green Park, Vadapalani. The Committee members & staff all pitched & each contributed her mite to see the program through. The anchor Ms. Lekha did a commendable job coordinating & conducting the lucky dip. ANEW records its thanks to each and every donor /Sponsor who helped make the event a grand success. They are truly “the wind beneath our wings”.
